The Browns let Shough fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Browns were there to profit. Tyler Shough, the No. 137 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 192nd overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

Every board in the league had West lower, and that gap is the story. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. They went 9 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
