Draft Grade — Jets
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Larceny in pick No. 145 lands the Jets a A-, McCord and all.

Whoever sat across the table from the Jets should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

The McCord value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If Jones Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Colston Loveland
In slot 24 they get a red-zone target to build around at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Jack Bech at No. 73 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at the 97th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick110 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
Fair-plus on Lathan Ransom, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
You do not let a quarterback like Kyle McCord reach the 145th overall pick and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick162 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
They took Ty Robinson at par in pick No. 162, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick186 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 186th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in pick 207 is fair value, right on his grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
