Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Browns robbed the room for Neal. Final grade: B-.

Somebody in the 190th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Devin Neal, the No. 82 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Burke has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 12 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker in the 33rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick44 Rnd2 Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke at Round 2, Pick 12 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Alfred Collins. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick76 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the 76th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick94 Rnd3 Tyler Warren
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Warren at pick 94 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick102 Rnd4 Jack Bech
Jack Bech in No. 102 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick163 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in pick No. 163 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick177 Rnd6 Chris Paul Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Chris Paul Jr. in the 177th overall pick, plain and simple. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick190 Rnd6 Devin Neal
Devin Neal in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
They read the board right and Jordan Hancock was the payoff at Round 6, Pick 23. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at pick No. 214 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick215 Rnd6 DJ Campbell
The board had DJ Campbell higher than the 215th pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick256 Rnd7 Donovan Edwards
They will replay Donovan Edwards at slot 256 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
