Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA
Larceny in pick 215 lands the Browns a B, Skattebo and all.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at the Round 6 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Every board in the league had West lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick 4 they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
No edge and no loss on Tyler Booker in slot 33; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick38 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka is a better player than No. 38 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
You do not let a linebacker like Jihaad Campbell reach Round 3, Pick 3 and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick94 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
A top-tier running back at a bargain, TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick102 Rnd4 Maxwell Hairston
Good price on Maxwell Hairston in the 102nd pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick No. 104 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick163 Rnd5 Addison West
Addison West at the 163rd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick177 Rnd6 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at the 177th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick190 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
They paid a round early for Ja'Corey Brooks in the 190th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
They read the board right and Jordan Hancock was the payoff at slot 198. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in pick 214 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick215 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
Taking Cam Skattebo in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick256 Rnd7 Cody Lindenberg
Somehow Cody Lindenberg was still sitting there in pick No. 256, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
