Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA
Quarterback settled, Maye in the fold, and a D for the Jaguars.

Somebody took the Jaguars to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Jaguars had louder needs to answer first. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Dixon.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Drake Maye
Drake Maye at Round 1, Pick 9 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland in the 75th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick97 Rnd3 Caelen Carson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Caelen Carson in pick No. 97. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick114 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
By-the-book stuff, Blake Fisher at No. 114 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick116 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 116th pick on Javon Solomon with wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved.
Pick212 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
Johnny Dixon at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick237 Rnd7 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in slot 237 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
