The Giants won the night they stopped Stone from sliding. Grade: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Preston Stone slide 113 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will need Johnson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The veteran additions, Antoine Winfield Jr. chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
