Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Giants bet the future on Beck. The board says D.

You could see the war room lean forward. Sonny Styles at No. 166 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

Carson Beck is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carson Beck
In slot 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value.
Pick16 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter is a better player than pick No. 16 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick38 Rnd2 Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at pick 38 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Josh Conerly Jr.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Josh Conerly Jr. at pick No. 70 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick102 Rnd4 Clay Webb
Clay Webb at No. 102 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd5 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at the Round 5 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139 Rnd5 J. Michael Sturdivant
Steal is underselling it; J. Michael Sturdivant at slot 139 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick166 Rnd6 Sonny Styles
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Sonny Styles in Round 6, Pick 6, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick198 Rnd7 Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool slipping to the 198th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
They robbed the room for Jack Kiser here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
