The Giants found their guy under center in Beck: D. Call it larceny. Quinn Ewers sat on the board until Round 3, Pick 22, and the Giants did not need to be asked twice. Put together, it is a D.
The whole projection now runs through Carson Beck; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.
The Jordan Whitehead deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Carson Beck
In No. 13 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick14
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In slot 14 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick15
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In pick 15 they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick26
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
They robbed the room for James Pearce Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick38
Rnd2
Tetairoa McMillan
Tetairoa McMillan at Round 2, Pick 6 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
Steal is underselling it; Tyleik Williams at slot 70 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick86
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
Somehow Quinn Ewers was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Rod Moore
The board fumbled Rod Moore all the way to No. 87, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Shedeur Sanders
They will replay Shedeur Sanders at pick No. 88 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick90
Rnd3
Jordan Hancock
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jordan Hancock in the 90th overall pick, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102
Rnd4
Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton slipping to slot 102 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134
Rnd5
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren is a better player than Round 5, Pick 6 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139
Rnd5
Nick Emmanwori
A quiet steal in the Round 5 slot: Nick Emmanwori for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick140
Rnd5
Fernando Carmona Jr.
Nice patience on Fernando Carmona Jr., who had no business lasting to No. 140. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick166
Rnd6
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at the 166th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick198
Rnd7
Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles at pick No. 198 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
