Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Giants let Mullings fall into their laps, and walked away with a D.

The board owed the Giants one, and it paid up: Kalel Mullings, the No. 44 name on the board, sitting there at Round 4, Pick 33 like a gift left on the doorstep. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In the 4th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Will Campbell
Will Campbell in the Round 1 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick40 Rnd2 Mason Graham
Steal is underselling it; Mason Graham at Round 2, Pick 8 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick44 Rnd2 Will Johnson
You do not let a cornerback like Will Johnson reach No. 44 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71 Rnd3 Carson Beck
Circle this one: Carson Beck at the 71st overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals at pick 114 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Kalel Mullings
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Kalel Mullings in pick No. 134, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte in slot 154 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick189 Rnd6 Cade Klubnik
They will replay Cade Klubnik at pick 189 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 205th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick219 Rnd7 Gunnar Helm
They robbed the room for Gunnar Helm here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick242 Rnd7 Que Robinson
They barely believed it either: Que Robinson still on the board at Round 7, Pick 28. The roster fit checks out.
