Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB-
The Giants found their guy under center in Beck: B+. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Drew Allar, the No. 75 name on the board, stolen at No. 166. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The whole projection now runs through Carson Beck; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
The Bowman Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The veteran additions, Connor McGovern chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Carson Beck
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get the arm they will build around, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Deone Walker
In slot 27 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Good price on Tyler Booker in the 39th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
Quinn Ewers
Circle this one: Quinn Ewers at pick 56 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jabbar Muhammad
Somehow Jabbar Muhammad was still sitting there in the 70th overall pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans at pick No. 88 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at No. 91 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jacobee Bryant
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jacobee Bryant in Round 4, Pick 6. The roster fit checks out.
Pick103
Rnd4
Oronde Gadsden II
No edge and no loss on Oronde Gadsden II in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jay Higgins
You do not let a linebacker like Jay Higgins reach slot 120 and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick134
Rnd5
Keon Sabb
Keon Sabb at Round 5, Pick 6 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144
Rnd5
Antonio Williams
A quiet steal in pick 144: Antonio Williams for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153
Rnd5
Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. in pick No. 153 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Maxwell Hairston
Value with a capital V on Maxwell Hairston in the 154th overall pick, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick166
Rnd6
Drew Allar
Taking Drew Allar in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick167
Rnd6
Reuben Fatheree II
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Reuben Fatheree II at No. 167 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick198
Rnd7
Steve Linton
They took Steve Linton at par in the 198th pick, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick216
Rnd7
Marcus Harris
Marcus Harris in slot 216 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
