Draft Grade — Giants

FutureB+
A franchise passer in Sanders headlines a D+ weekend for the Giants. The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Garrett Nussmeier fell into the Round 7 slot. Put together, it is a D+.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
The Skinner pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter in Round 1, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick28
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In pick 28 they get their guy under center for the next decade at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick29
Rnd1
Deone Walker
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick30
Rnd1
Quinn Ewers
In pick 30 they get a long-term answer under center, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Tetairoa McMillan
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tetairoa McMillan in the 38th pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick39
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau at No. 39 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick61
Rnd2
Quinshon Judkins
Circle this one: Quinshon Judkins at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick62
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone is a better player than pick No. 62 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63
Rnd2
Mitchell Evans
They let Mitchell Evans come to them and pounced at the 63rd overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick94
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at slot 94 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick124
Rnd4
Patrick Payton
They will replay Patrick Payton at Round 4, Pick 28 for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick134
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
They robbed the room for Oscar Delp here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jacobee Bryant
Somehow Jacobee Bryant was still sitting there in slot 139, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick166
Rnd6
Reuben Fatheree II
Reuben Fatheree II at the 166th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick198
Rnd7
Jalen Travis
Good price on Jalen Travis in pick No. 198, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick207
Rnd7
Garrett Nussmeier
Garrett Nussmeier at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick209
Rnd7
Andrew Mukuba
The board fumbled Andrew Mukuba all the way to No. 209, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick212
Rnd7
Dorian Strong
A clean, defensible pick in pick 212 with a little surplus value in Dorian Strong. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick214
Rnd7
Theo Wease Jr.
They took Theo Wease Jr. at par in slot 214, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Jaleel Skinner
Jaleel Skinner in the 219th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
