Draft Grade — Giants

The Giants drew a line under the quarterback search with Ewers: A-. When a board-topper like Abdul Carter slides to Round 3, Pick 29, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
The whole projection now runs through Quinn Ewers; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In the end it comes back to Quinn Ewers, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In pick 23 they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In pick No. 25 they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick29
Rnd1
Quinn Ewers
In No. 29 they get a franchise quarterback, and a steal at that.
Pick38
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at Round 2, Pick 6 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70
Rnd3
Evan Stewart
They will replay Evan Stewart at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92
Rnd3
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius in the 92nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick93
Rnd3
Abdul Carter
Abdul Carter at slot 93 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick104
Rnd4
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at pick 104 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
You do not let an offensive lineman like Donovan Jackson reach the 123rd overall pick and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134
Rnd5
Noah Thomas
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Noah Thomas in pick No. 134, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jamaree Caldwell
Somehow Jamaree Caldwell was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick152
Rnd5
Dasan McCullough
Circle this one: Dasan McCullough at the 152nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick153
Rnd5
Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford in pick No. 153 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick166
Rnd6
J.J. Weaver
They robbed the room for J.J. Weaver here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick185
Rnd6
Dorian Strong
No edge and no loss on Dorian Strong in the 185th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198
Rnd7
Trikweze Bridges
No drama and no debate, Trikweze Bridges went about where he belonged in No. 198. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204
Rnd7
Jaleel Skinner
Jaleel Skinner at pick 204 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick214
Rnd7
Marcus Harris
Marcus Harris in Round 7, Pick 22 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick216
Rnd7
KJ Jefferson
They let KJ Jefferson come to them and pounced at slot 216. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
