Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
McMillan should have been long gone. The Jets pounced, and earned a B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tetairoa McMillan got past him. The Jets do not have to explain a thing at slot 73. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Reaching for Barrow Jr. left real value on the table behind him. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the 7th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
They took T.J. Sanders at par in pick No. 42, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick73 Rnd3 Tetairoa McMillan
The board fumbled Tetairoa McMillan all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick110 Rnd4 Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel in No. 110 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick145 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans in pick 145 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick162 Rnd5 RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey in Round 5, Pick 24 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick186 Rnd6 Simeon Barrow Jr.
They reached a country mile for Simeon Barrow Jr. at slot 186, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick207 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
No edge and no loss on Caleb Ransaw in the 207th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
