Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Bears got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the B-.

Nobody else had Richard Jibunor anywhere near the 225th pick. The Bears did, by 108 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. If one pick saves this weekend, it is DeJean.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Laiatu Latu
In pick 13 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick68 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
They read the board right and Cooper DeJean was the payoff at pick No. 68. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick104 Rnd4 Graham Barton
No edge and no loss on Graham Barton in No. 104; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick132 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
A premium they did not need to pay, Darius Robinson a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick141 Rnd5 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton in slot 141 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick182 Rnd6 Gabe Hall
No drama and no debate, Gabe Hall went about where he belonged in the 182nd pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick225 Rnd7 Richard Jibunor
They reached a country mile for Richard Jibunor at No. 225, and the board is aghast. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
