Draft Grade — Jaguars

FutureA
The Jaguars let Ransom fall and pounced. Final grade: A-. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Jaguars, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Ransom at that price is a win they earned.
They are betting Booker proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Jeff Okudah deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Bottom line, with Tyler Booker leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tyler Booker
In the 25th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
They took Tyleik Williams at par in the 36th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick58
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in slot 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick70
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in pick No. 70 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick79
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
A straight-up fair deal on Mason Taylor at Round 3, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at No. 88 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick89
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at No. 89 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick107
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
They did well to land Jared Wilson in pick 107, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick126
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Steal is underselling it; Lathan Ransom at the 126th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
