No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Chiefs.

The curious call sets the tone. With wide receiver, tight end and other spots still glaring, the Chiefs used pick No. 66 on Andrew Mukuba, a safety they were not exactly short of. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Mukuba reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Watts steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
