Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

For all the boxes ticked, the Bills skipped the loudest one: linebacker is exactly as bare as it was.

Boyd falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Greenfield has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick 28 they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 DJ James
DJ James in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick128 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
A straight-up fair deal on Isaac Guerendo at Round 4, Pick 28, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick134 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Johnny Wilson in the 134th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jalyx Hunt
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jalyx Hunt. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick160 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kitan Oladapo in slot 160. The roster fit checks out.
Pick163 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
No edge and no loss on Walter Rouse in the 163rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick189 Rnd6 Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at No. 189 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick200 Rnd6 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at Round 6, Pick 25 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick204 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in pick No. 204 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick248 Rnd7 Bub Means
A clean, defensible pick in No. 248 with a little surplus value in Bub Means. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
