The Texans kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Texans reached some 66 spots for Logan Brown, and value like that does not grow back.

The Woodson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

In the 25th pick they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.

Donovan Ezeiruaku at No. 58 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Jayden Higgins in slot 89 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

This one needs a full-page explanation: CJ West in the Round 5 slot, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
