Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Nugent left real value on the table behind him. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick68 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
A slide stopped in slot 68, with Cooper DeJean worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
Good price on Blake Fisher in No. 104, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick140 Rnd5 Beau Brade
Beau Brade at pick 140 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick147 Rnd5 Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick181 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
They went early on Oronde Gadsden II in the 181st pick, and the value did not follow. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
A reach on Jaylan Ford in the 182nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Pick225 Rnd7 Theo Johnson
They paid a round early for Theo Johnson in pick No. 225, more than the board wanted. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
