Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent pick 174 on Dominic Zvada, a name the board had a full 46 spots lower. There is no dressing it up: a F.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Greathouse at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left running back open, and the grade is the bill.
