Williams should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bears did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most.

Landing Williams that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Turner lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
