The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Carter: B.

Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Barrett Carter, the No. 82 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

The cost of the Horn Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
