Draft Grade — Lions
Overall D
ValueB- NeedA- TradesF FutureD+
Larceny in the Round 4 slot lands the Lions a D, Abrams-Draine and all.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Lions shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. They will need Kneeland to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

On value alone, Abrams-Draine makes the weekend a net positive. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean at the 29th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick39 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
No edge and no loss on Darius Robinson in the 39th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Worthy at slot 57 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick61 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
No drama and no debate, Zach Frazier went about where he belonged in pick No. 61. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
A conviction pick on Marshawn Kneeland at Round 3, Pick 1 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick73 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in No. 73 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick101 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine in Round 4, Pick 1 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick198 Rnd6 Myles Cole
They took Myles Cole at par in pick 198, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
