Draft Grade — Browns
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
Grand theft in pick No. 163: the Browns steal Singleton and grade out a D.

The Browns spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nicholas Singleton, the No. 93 name on the board, in slot 163.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In No. 24 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Good price on Kenneth Grant in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick43 Rnd2 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. is a better player than Round 2, Pick 11 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81 Rnd3 Dillon Gabriel
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Dillon Gabriel in slot 81, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick90 Rnd3 Deion Burks
Deion Burks at pick No. 90 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jay Higgins
A straight-up fair deal on Jay Higgins at the 107th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick114 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra at pick 114 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels in the 122nd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick163 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick177 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong at the 177th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick203 Rnd7 Colbie Young
They took Colbie Young at par in slot 203, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
