You build a draft on nights like this. Luther Burden III had no business being available in No. 43, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Burke lower, and that gap is the story.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
