Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Giants to a C+.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Giants shredded theirs for Clay Webb. He came off 70 spots early, and the room will hear about it. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Mukuba. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

So much rides on Mason Graham that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In No. 14 they get an anchor for the defensive front at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Watts. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick65 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They paid up for Darien Porter at the 65th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jihaad Campbell in Round 3, Pick 16, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jake Majors
They read the board right and Jake Majors was the payoff at pick 103. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick126 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick134 Rnd4 Antwane Wells Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Antwane Wells Jr. this early at the 134th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153 Rnd5 Clay Webb
This one needs a full-page explanation: Clay Webb in the Round 5 slot, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd7 Xavier Truss
A big swing on Xavier Truss at the 219th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in pick 246 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
