The Chargers went off-script early, and it cost them a F.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Dylan Fairchild; the Chargers did not wait, grabbing him 65 spots ahead at Round 6, Pick 2. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing McCullough that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with interior defensive lineman still staring back at them.
