The Bills looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jordan Jefferson at pick No. 134 regardless, 50 picks early.

The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
