The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Upton Stout, the No. 186 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 7 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

The Buchanan pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
