Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Mendoza in the fold, and a B- for the Raiders. The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
Every board in the league had Black lower, and that gap is the story. On value alone, Stukes makes the weekend a net positive. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick36
Rnd2
Chris Brazzell II
They did well to land Chris Brazzell II in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Lee Hunter
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at slot 67 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick102
Rnd4
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes in No. 102 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick117
Rnd4
Gracen Halton
They paid up for Gracen Halton at pick 117 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick134
Rnd4
Will Lee III
Will Lee III in the 134th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick175
Rnd5
Caleb Douglas
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 175, where Caleb Douglas graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick185
Rnd6
Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at the 185th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick208
Rnd6
Riley Nowakowski
A premium they did not need to pay, Riley Nowakowski a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219
Rnd7
Robert Spears-Jennings
Robert Spears-Jennings in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
