The Seahawks bet big and early on Willie Lampkin, 117 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Bo Nix gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits.

It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Seahawks had louder needs to answer first. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left linebacker open, and the grade is the bill.
