Tracy Jr. should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a A. Thirty-one other rooms let Tyrone Tracy Jr. slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at Round 6, Pick 4. Highway robbery.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. If Milton III pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Troy Fautanu
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick30
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In pick 30 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick51
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson slid further than he should have, and No. 51 is lovely value for the linebacker. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Circle this one: Junior Colson at slot 81 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88
Rnd3
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the Round 3 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick119
Rnd4
DeWayne Carter
Quietly one of the better values of the day, DeWayne Carter at pick No. 119. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165
Rnd5
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo at the 165th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick171
Rnd5
Caedan Wallace
They will replay Caedan Wallace at the 171st pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick174
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 38 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick179
Rnd6
Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Tyrone Tracy Jr. at pick No. 179 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick192
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They reached a country mile for Joe Milton III at the 192nd pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick235
Rnd7
Jordan Whittington
They paid sticker price for Jordan Whittington in the 235th overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
