Somebody in pick No. 215 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Rylie Mills, the No. 96 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

If Foster pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
