The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Brenen Thompson fell into the 206th pick.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
