You could see the war room lean forward. Ricky Pearsall at pick No. 251 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Reaching for Fisher left real value on the table behind him. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
