Draft Grade — Lions
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Lions. For all the boxes ticked, the Lions skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In pick No. 29 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick73
Rnd3
Max Melton
Max Melton in the 73rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
