The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Goncalves pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If Carter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
