The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with McCarthy: A-. You could see the war room lean forward. Olumuyiwa Fashanu at No. 75 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
They have staked the next five years on J.J. McCarthy, which is the only story that really matters here. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Reaching for Eboigbe left real value on the table behind him.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, J.J. McCarthy and all.
