Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureC
The Bills robbed the room for Laube. Final grade: D-. The phones were a trap the Bills kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
However the rest shakes out, Laube at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the 28th pick they get a building block for the line, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick29
Rnd1
Byron Murphy II
In pick 29 they get a wrecking ball inside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick30
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In slot 30 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick128
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Nothing to complain about; Johnny Wilson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas in Round 5, Pick 8 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick160
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick163
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in the 163rd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
They robbed the room for Dwight McGlothern here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick200
Rnd6
Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick201
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gabe Hall. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick204
Rnd6
Julian Pearl
They took Julian Pearl at par in pick No. 204, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205
Rnd6
Dylan Laube
Dylan Laube at the 205th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick248
Rnd7
Jordan Whittington
They paid sticker price for Jordan Whittington in No. 248, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
