Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Patriots answered their biggest question with Maye. Grade: B.

The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Mustapha. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In No. 3 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell in the 34th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in pick 68 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick106 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at Round 4, Pick 6 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick137 Rnd5 Anthony Gould
By-the-book stuff, Anthony Gould at the 137th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick180 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Kamal Hadden graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick193 Rnd6 Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha in slot 193 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick231 Rnd7 Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at pick No. 231 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
