You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Steelers did exactly that with Xavier Truss in No. 185. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
