The 49ers spent real capital to be 189 picks early on Rivaldo Fairweather, and the board is going to hold them to it. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
