Cstorr DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB+
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B-. There is reaching, and then there is Cedric Gray at Round 3, Pick 28. The Seahawks jumped the board by 22 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In slot 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick81
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
They took Calen Bullock at par in the 81st pick, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cedric Gray well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson in No. 102 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at Round 4, Pick 18 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179
Rnd6
Trente Jones
A reach for Trente Jones in the 179th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick192
Rnd6
Kendall Milton
They jumped the gun on Kendall Milton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at the 219th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235
Rnd7
Bub Means
They paid up for Bub Means at slot 235 when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
