FutureD
The Bills won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. Nobody had Kyle Williams this high, and it is not close. The Bills reached 52 spots to get him at the 119th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. McMillan falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Sauce Gardner deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In No. 30 they get a weapon on the perimeter, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Nothing to complain about; Tyleik Williams went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick81
Rnd3
Darien Porter
A tidy little value on Darien Porter in pick 81, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick92
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro at the 92nd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips at Round 4, Pick 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick119
Rnd4
Kyle Williams
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kyle Williams well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
