Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Rosengarten: D.

The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Kendall Milton went at the 215th overall pick, a good 30 picks before the board was ready. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Rosengarten falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
