Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Patriots finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Robinson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Getting Sanders where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Nothing to complain about; Adonai Mitchell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders at pick No. 68 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Darius Robinson well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick139 Rnd5 Cam Hart
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick182 Rnd6 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at the 182nd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick224 Rnd7 Daequan Hardy
Daequan Hardy at pick 224 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jeremy Flax
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremy Flax. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
