Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall A
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
Larceny in pick No. 240 lands the Eagles a A, Proctor and all.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Proctor. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In the 26th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick53 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in Round 2, Pick 21 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick97 Rnd3 Caelen Carson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Caelen Carson at slot 97. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick160 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
They read the board right and Roger Rosengarten was the payoff at No. 160. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Travis in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178 Rnd6 Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson is a better player than the 178th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson at slot 189 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick197 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
Somehow Jha'Quan Jackson was still sitting there in pick No. 197, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick240 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
They robbed the room for Josh Proctor here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
