Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Raiders: B-.

The Raiders torched the value chart for Jalen Thompson, taking him 40 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

However the rest shakes out, Alexander at that price is a win they earned. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Will Echoles
In the 23rd pick they get a disruptive interior force at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Omarion Miller
They talked themselves into Omarion Miller at slot 54, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at pick 88 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jackson Bennee
They let Jackson Bennee come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 23. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jalen Thompson
A big swing on Jalen Thompson at the 159th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Malachi Breland
Malachi Breland at pick No. 205 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
