Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Raiders won the night they stopped Stone from sliding. Grade: B+.

The board owed the Raiders one, and it paid up: David Stone, the No. 21 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 3 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Miller lower, and that gap is the story.

Adding Talanoa Hufanga by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Will Echoles
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that.
Pick56 Rnd2 Omarion Miller
Omarion Miller at the 56th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick84 Rnd3 Reed Harris
They liked Reed Harris enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick87 Rnd3 David Stone
David Stone at No. 87 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124 Rnd4 Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at slot 124 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126 Rnd4 Evan Tengesdahl
Evan Tengesdahl in pick No. 126 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick158 Rnd5 Jalen Mayo
They barely believed it either: Jalen Mayo still on the board at pick 158. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
Pick200 Rnd6 Joseph Borjon
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Joseph Borjon at the 200th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
