Draft Grade — Raiders

Best value of the weekend goes to the Raiders for Echoles: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Raiders were there to profit. Will Echoles, the No. 14 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 54.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The Duff pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
KJ Duff
In the 23rd pick they get a go-to option on the outside, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Will Echoles
Somehow Will Echoles was still sitting there in slot 54, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88
Rnd3
Greg Johnson
Greg Johnson at Round 3, Pick 24 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick125
Rnd4
Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at pick 125 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick159
Rnd5
Mateen Ibirogba
Mateen Ibirogba at pick No. 159 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick205
Rnd6
Tao Johnson
They barely believed it either: Tao Johnson still on the board at No. 205. A minor need, but a need all the same.
